Let’s face it: money matters, especially for nonprofits. It’s not just about keeping the lights on—it’s about powering up your mission. Recent surveys show that nonprofit leaders consistently rank funding as their top concern. In fact, over 40% of nonprofits say lack of resources is their biggest challenge. Why? Because with more funding, you can do so much more:
-
- Expand your programs to help more people
- Hire and keep great staff (74% of nonprofits have job openings
- Try out new, innovative ideas
- Reach communities you couldn’t before
Extra funding helps you shift from just surviving to really thriving. It lets you think big, test new approaches, and create lasting change. With a mix of strong funding sources, you can amplify your mission, deepen your impact, and turn your boldest ideas into real-world results that make a difference.

Expanding your grant portfolio isn’t just about keeping the doors open—it’s about supercharging your impact. The numbers don’t lie: 68% of nonprofits are planning to cut programs and services in the next couple of years due to financial constraints. But here’s the flip side: with more funding, you can do what you already do well…even better!
Extra cash increases accountability when your organization relies less on volunteers for key functions. It lets you pay for technology upgrades to make your services more accessible and faster. How about expanding your capacity by more professional development for your team? With the right resources and strategy, there’s no limit to the positive change you can create in your community.

Let’s talk about the power of funding for your nonprofit’s most valuable asset: your people. It’s not just about maintaining basic operations—it’s about nurturing your team and helping them thrive. The numbers tell a tough story: 76% of nonprofit leaders say staff burnout is hurting their mission, and nearly 57% believe staff turnover limits their ability to implement change. But here’s the good news: increased funding can be a game-changer, especially when it comes to expanding your team. With additional resources, you could:
-
- Hire part-time staff to take on administrative tasks, freeing up your core team for mission-critical work
- Bring on project-based contractors to handle grant writing [ahem] or fundraising campaigns
- Add a new full-time position to spread the workload more evenly
Even small additions to your team can make a big difference. Imagine being able to give your overworked program manager some breathing room, or finally having someone dedicated to volunteer coordination. These changes can reduce burnout, improve job satisfaction, and help you retain your valuable staff.

About TAG
Hello there! I’m Teresa, the founder of Transcend Advisory Group (TAG), and I’m here to help your nonprofit thrive. With over 20 years of experience in higher education and nonprofits, I’ve walked in your shoes and understand the challenges you face. My passion is simple: I want to create a more equitable world by empowering organizations like yours. Whether you’re a small nonprofit in Gwinnett County or a mid-sized social enterprise in the Atlanta metro area, I’m here to help you grow, secure funding, and maximize your impact.
I love rolling up my sleeves and diving into the nitty-gritty of grant applications [yes, I’m a grant nerd], policy development, and strategic thinking. But more than that, I’m committed to building lasting relationships with my clients. When you work with me, you’re gaining a partner who’s invested in your success. My approach is tailored to your needs, whether that’s crafting a grant strategy, providing leadership coaching, or offering “grant readiness” organizational support. When I’m not working, you’ll find me spending time with my family, volunteering in our community, curled up with a good book, or curled up [literally] doing yoga. I’d love to hear about your mission and explore how we can work together to make a lasting impact in our community.
Can I afford grant services?
What could you accomplish with extra time and expert support? Strengthen your fundraising, expand your services, or finally tackle the projects that keep getting delayed? Partnering with a specialist means investing in your organization’s growth—and avoiding burnout along the way. Let’s work together to review the cost/benefits breakdown so you achieve your goals.
Teresa has the rare ability to shift from a big picture conversation to details of a technical project to the practical application of a complex policy.
I had the pleasure of working with Teresa for nearly six years at Georgia Gwinnett College seeking her guidance on public policy. She was the policy genius at GGC.
It is with great enthusiasm that I highly recommend Teresa for any organization with a strong culture of honesty, ethics and transparency.
Teresa and I worked on many complex projects together in GGC’s office of the president for several years. From a national perspective, I found her research and analytical skills to be among the best I have ever encountered. She engages with people with extraordinary kindness, and is the person you want on your team to ensure critical projects are successful. Her sharp mind and warm heart are a valuable combination for any organization.
